What does a Google presentation look like?

Well… You should decide, but I really don’t like it…

I don’t know if this presentation is legit. It probably is since I found it on Techcrunch.

Why am I disappointed by their slides? They are very wordy, very conventional and they are not graphical at all. I was awaiting more from a company like Google!

They really have no excuse, because Garr Reynolds from PresentationZen went to Authors @google and talked there for more than one hour. I really like his presentation philosophy and I am sure this presentation doesn’t meet his standards.

I selected one slide, I really dislike, about the currency risk from the slideshow:

If you read the title you have just a question and no answer. If you want an answer you got to read the whole over crowed, over bulleted, under attractive slide. That’s not good.

I tried to very quicly improve this slide and here is the result in 2 slides.

First Slide :

Second Slide:

These are very simple slides, you can do it about 30 minutes in PowerPoint. You don’t need a designer or a chart expert. Your audience won’t be amazed by your graphical talent, but they will get the point with a single glimpse.

Google success comes from its ability to make it easier for its users to find what they are searching for. A good presentation is very similar, it has to make it easier for its audience to understand.
